WIND AND SOLAR

  • Our 150-MW Burgos Wind Project, which is the country’s largest wind energy project, received its Certificate of Compliance (CoC) in April 2015. This entitles the project to a Feed-in Tariff (FiT) rate of PHP8.53/kWh for 20 years, where collections started in June 2015
  • Following the curtailment of Burgos’ capacity due to transmission line constraints, the project now enjoys the dispatch of its full capacity after the completion of the San Esteban transmission line in September 2015
  • 2015 was also the year where we added solar to our portfolio. EDC used land at the Burgos site in Ilocos Norte to install and operate the 4.16-MW Burgos Solar Project, which was successfully completed in March 2015. The project received its CoC in April 2015, entitling it to a PHP9.68/kWh FiT rate for 20 years, where collections started in September 2015
  • In January of 2016, the 2.66-MW Burgos Solar Project Phase 2 was completed, bringing EDC’s total solar capacity to 6.8 MW. Burgos Solar Phase 2 is covered by the expanded installation target for solar projects availing the FiT. The project, after having received its CoC in March 2016, is entitled to collect the FiT rate of PHP8.69/kWh for 20 years.
